In the age of digital there’s been a lot of debate about the future of news. Some argue that professional journalism is obsolete. Some argue the PR industry is obsolete. Some argue the press release is obsolete. Some argue the media is obsolete. But we all know the truth is much more complicated.
So MyNewsdesk’s UK team and BOTTLE PR have got together to conduct some research. If you’re a journalist, a publisher, a blogger or a PR/comms consultant working either in-house or within an agency, we want to know what you feel about the future of the communications industry. Do you think that professional journalism is on its last legs? Do you think that PR consultants are a dying breed? Is the ‘news’ industry as a whole being taken over by citizen journalism on Twitter, Facebook and blogs?
This research is intended to take in the entire comms industry to provide genuine insight into your opinions on its future and how working processes are adapting to meet the evolving demands of the social web.
The survey is fairly extensive, but is intentionally comprehensive in order to provide valuable results. Even so it will only take a few minutes to complete. It will be open until Friday June 10th and we’ll be producing the resulting report by early July. As a thank you for taking part you’ll get a free copy of the report (unless you’d prefer to complete the survey anonymously). And of course there is the traditional prize draw for not one but three bottles of champagne.
We’d really value your opinion, and look forward to sharing the outcomes with you.
