Congratulations to Nokia on winning Best Press Room at the Bees Awards

Last week something happened that we’re really proud of at MyNewsdesk. Nokia Sweden won an award for Best Use of Media Press Room in the first edition of the Bees Awards.

The Bees Awards are held in San Francisco. It is the first international social media competition for marketing and communications professionals. Quite a few global brands were in attendance, hoping to win.

As for Nokia, we think it’s wonderful to be able to congratulate one of our really valuable customers on receiving this award. However, we appreciate the fact that the use of digital pressrooms has warranted its own category at this ceremony. It is indicative of the increasing importance of social media newsrooms to a communicator, and how this digital medium is used to reach journalists and other influencers transparently, and on their terms.

“We’re very happy that Nokia Sweden’s newsroom has gained international recognition. We see it as a vindicating the notion of having an open and engaging communication strategy, especially when you see the interaction we have with return visitors, which are made up of journalists, bloggers, and customers,” says Oskar Södergren, Communications Manager at Nokia Scandinavia.

Nokia’s award winning newsroom was built by Wenderfalck PR agency. They have also added MyNewsdesk’s Web-Synched Press Room. This service allows you to mirror your MyNewsdesk newsroom on your own website, ensuring all press information is updated from one location, while keeping the same functionality and graphic design of your site.
